The background to starting Up Nursing Care Taxi
For about 20 years, I have worked as an occupational therapist in local government, primarily engaged in long-term care prevention programs for the elderly. Through various occupational activities and exercises, I have helped people continue to live lives true to themselves and have been involved in increasing the number of easily accessible "community gathering places" (kayoi-no-ba).
On the other hand, I also had the opportunity to learn about situations where people find it difficult to go out or travel as they would like due to injuries, illness, or changes in their environment. This led me to think about what services are necessary for people to continue living life on their own terms and to travel to the places they want to go.
I have always loved driving cars, and before becoming an occupational therapist, I worked for a red cola beverage manufacturer and a black cat delivery service. Especially in delivery work, I met many different people while delivering to private homes. Through those experiences, I was inspired to obtain a qualification that would allow me to be of help to individuals one by one, and I earned my certification as an occupational therapist. When I thought about what I could do in my own unique way by utilizing those experiences, I felt a desire to work in supporting the mobility needed to go out, which led me to establish Up Kaigo Taxi.
Moving forward, we will continue to build on our experience in mobility support with Up Nursing Care Taxi and strive to hone our skills to provide even better service. We would greatly appreciate your continued support and look forward to watching Up Nursing Care Taxi grow.
